About Us
Greetings - and thanks for visiting our website.
We hope you enjoy your time here and, if you haven't yet been along to any of our activities, you might consider doing so.
Visitors, newcomers and inquirers will receive a warm welcome at any church event.
The District of Castlemaine includes the Uniting Church congregations of Castlemaine and Harcourt and the faith community of Sipwell. We're located on the goldfields in North Central Victoria, on the land of the Jaara people.
We believe God calls us together to make community and to follow the way of Jesus.
We believe we are made better Christians by having open minds and by listening to, and learning from, one another.
We are united by the Basis of Union of the Uniting Church in Australia and are committed to the chief values of the Uniting Church including love of one's neighbour, social and international justice and environmental stewardship.
Harcourt congregation is located at 30 Buckley St Harcourt, and Castlemaine congregation at 8-12 Lyttleton St. Castlemaine, next to the art gallery.
Sunday services at Harcourt are held at 9.00 am and at Castlemaine, at 10.30, but this varies if it's the fifth Sunday of the month. Please go to the foot of this page for further details.

What We Do
For many of us Sunday worship is the most important activity in the church week.
Check the foot of this page for Sunday service times and click here for more information about Sunday worship.
A weekly newsletter is published and uploaded to this website here. A printed version is available at Sunday services and put in anyone's letterbox who does not have access to the internet.
Beyond worship services, the activities of the Parish empahsise a culture of pastoral care nurtured by the Elders; the expression of hospitality; community engagement and social justice; learning more about our faith; and collaboration with other Christian denominations in Castlemaine.
